Agapedia Children's Centre donates 60 face masks and protective visors to Esslingen Children's Hospital
The doors of the Agapedia Children's Centre in Esslingen like all child and youth welfare facilities, are currently unable to operate due to the Corona crisis closed. The staff at the Agapedia Children's Centre have therefore come up with something useful: Instead of offering the Esslingen children afternoon play, craft, romping or circus activities, the staff made 60 face masks and protective visors for the paediatric ward of the Esslingen hospital.
They received special support from their European volunteer Mariam Gogolauri from Georgia, who works at the children's centre for a year and is a trained seamstress. Together with Tina Döffinger and Gesine Hartmann The sewing machines were used for over a week. The masks are made of double-layer cotton and can be washed at 60 degrees and reused. A separate filter can also be inserted if required.
