Empowering children and showing social commitment in the region. With and in the: IdeenReich!
AGAPEDIA has been running a children's house for 6 to 12-year-olds in Esslingen since 1996 in the form of open child and youth work. The children's house promotes social behavior, creativity and personality in the children. Values are taught and the lack of relationships and orientation as well as child and youth criminality are prevented. The alternative form of non-formal educational work with a focus on creativity and design has made the AGAPEDIA children's center in Esslingen a valued cooperation partner of the surrounding schools and the city of Esslingen.
Our mission:
With the "Youth Future Plan" adopted in 2013, the BW state government has given non-formal and informal places of education a new political significance. Formal educational institutions such as schools and universities are important places of learning. However, these formal educational institutions are increasingly under time pressure; there is little room for the development of soft skills and the teaching of norms and values.
In addition to important additional state all-day childcare services, open child and youth work is becoming increasingly important: in these places, children and young people have the opportunity to try things out, develop themselves and discover their personal strengths and passions.
Would you like to take part and support us with donations in kind, time or money?
We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the current status of our building project. The building permit from the Esslingen building authority has been granted - we could start immediately. Thank you for any support!
