Agapedia Children's Center donates 60 face masks and protective visors to Esslingen Children's Hospital
Like all child and youth welfare facilities, the doors of the Agapedia Children's Center in Esslingen are currently closed due to the coronavirus crisis. That's why the staff at the Agapedia Children's Center have come up with something useful: Instead of offering the Esslingen children afternoon play, craft, romp or circus activities, the staff made 60 face masks and protective visors for the children's ward at Esslingen Hospital.
They received special support from their European volunteer Mariam Gogolauri from Georgia, who is working at the children's center for a year and is a trained seamstress. Together with Tina Döffinger and Gesine Hartmann, they worked on the sewing machines for over a week. The masks are made of double-layered cotton and can be washed at 60 degrees and reused. A separate filter can also be inserted if required.
Today, the 60 fabric masks and protective visors were handed over to the hospital staff, who were delighted with the much-needed donation! Since the Agapedia Children's Center itself is dependent on income and donations, interested parties can obtain fabric masks and visors for a donation of €13/each (information at: 0711-75876800 or 0163-3474446 / bianca.znoyek@agapedia.de)
