RurAbility and WorkAbility projects for community development (EU projects)
In three rural communities in the district of Brasov, we worked with the municipal administration to train 700 long-term unemployed and unqualified men and women in a three- or six-month course until 2015. This project was funded by the EU and led to a qualified qualification, e.g. as a hotel waiter, warehouse clerk or sales assistant. The training comprised a theoretical and a practical part. 80% of social services in Romania are located in cities, but 90% of all poor and needy people come from the underdeveloped, rural population and have more than four children.

It is therefore particularly important to support and enable people to get or keep a job with a qualified qualification. We supported the course participants in finding a job after successfully completing the course, e.g. by helping them to prepare application documents, providing training for successful job interviews and making initial contact between employers and jobseekers. Once an employment relationship was established, we supported our graduates for six months to ensure that they remained employed after the probationary period.
