Agapedia Centre Brasov

The Agapedia Centre Brasov offers two different after-school care programmes for children:
With the „Little Explorers“ club, we want to create a solid foundation for the personal and emotional development of children - based on Christian values - that give them orientation, confidence and support. The aim is to prepare them to become responsible, committed and reflective adults who can find their way in an increasingly complex world.

The activities include:
- Outdoor adventures: Hiking, learning survival skills (e.g. knot tying, camping, making a fire and cooking with minimal tools etc.) as well as promoting a responsible approach to nature.
- Character development: Targeted activities and challenges promote responsibility, teamwork and leadership skills - always combined with practical learning.
- Teaching values: The children learn and practise core values such as respect, honesty, kindness, compassion and helpfulness.
- Community involvement: Children are encouraged to get involved in community projects - for example by helping to green public spaces, maintaining and cleaning playgrounds or supporting disadvantaged people.

The aim of the second, extracurricular after-school care programme is to support children from socially disadvantaged families in their school learning and to prevent them from dropping out of school. To this end, they receive help with their homework and targeted tutoring in various subjects so that they can successfully complete their schooling.
In addition to the educational programmes, the children have a meal together and then take part in movement games in the garden or artistic activities that encourage their creativity and offer them space for rest and balance.
