The Agapedia K19 Children's Centre Geislingen<\/h2>\n\t

\n\t\t\t

J\u00fcrgen Klinsmann, together with his former youth coach Werner Gass from SC Geislingen, had the idea of getting involved with children in the centre of Geislingen. In several meetings in 2017 and 2018, they mobilised a consultation process together with the city administration in Geislingen and Mayor Frank Dehmer as well as the schools, clubs and child and youth welfare organisations to determine the optimal use of the premises of over 500 square metres for the children in Geislingen. Five working groups identified the need for a children's centre for children aged 6-12 with a community focus. The children's centre was financially supported by SWR Herzenssache for three years and is therefore called \u201eAgapedia K19 - Herzenssache Kinderzentrum\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t

\u201eThe way children experience the world is how they will face the world as adults\u201c<\/h3>\n

The K19 children's centre is a place where everyone is welcome, feels at ease and can feel like they belong. Tolerance towards all and protection for all form the basis and provide space to shape and realise individual interests. Children of all backgrounds and religions are welcome at K19. At K19, the children have the opportunity to organise their free time in a meaningful way, make friends and receive support. Our programme is supplemented by project weeks, excursions and much more. Voluntary participation is a core principle of our work, so that every child can take part in the programmes at K19 according to their interests and wishes. Since opening in December 2019, 120 children have been visiting the children's centre every week to spend their free time in a meaningful way in the afternoons. The K19 is also a meeting place for clubs and non-profit organisations that use the premises for their activities.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

ESF Plus \u201eWays out of poverty - empowerment through information and education\u201c<\/h2>\n\t

The ESF Plus project \u201eWays out of poverty - empowerment through information and education\u201c is currently being implemented at the K19 Children's Centre (2023-2025). As child and youth poverty is above all also family poverty, our project focuses on three levels:<\/h3>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

  1. Career guidance for 14 children from year 5 onwards<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    At least four career guidance events are organised each year. At each event, a career profile is presented and made tangible through practical exercises. The job profiles are based on the opportunities and wishes of the children and young people. The activities are organised in cooperation with local companies in a learning and education partnership and, where possible, are led by trainees.<\/p>\n

    1. Preventive everyday offers<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The selected children are to be integrated into the regular programme of the K19 Herzenssache Kinderzentrum. They attend the weekly K19 playtimes and take part in the programmes on offer. This allows a relationship and trust to be built up with the children and young people. This relationship serves as the basis for teaching social skills and basic social values.<\/p>\n

      1. The educational programme for parents at K19.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        A low-threshold parents' caf\u00e9 and a language course are held weekly as part of the educational project for parents. On the basis of the interests surveyed in the parents' caf\u00e9, themed groups are jointly developed in which project-orientated educational offers on the areas of everyday life take place (career, school system, applications, nutrition and health topics, parenting issues, etc.). The project aims to give parents the opportunity to experience K19 as a non-formal education centre and to find a trustworthy contact person.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

        We see a link between the preventative work with the children and young people and the parent project, in which the women are empowered to improve their situation by introducing them to help systems and practical tips, as a great opportunity to counteract poverty and the risk of poverty. At the same time, we are looking to the future with the career guidance project and want to introduce the children and young people to the world of work at an early age and help them to discover their talents and skills.<\/p>\n
