European Solidarity Corps<\/h2>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t

Since 2013, Agapedia has been a recognised institution of the EU programme European Solidarity Corps<\/a> (formerly: European Voluntary Service)<\/span>. Young people from Europe can bring their ideas to the Esslingen Children's Centre for up to a year and gain valuable experience in NGO work.<\/p>\n

We would like to say a big thank you to Youth in Action! The volunteers from other European countries are an incredible enrichment for the little Agapedia visitors. Many of the children who come to the children's centre every day have a migrant background. This gives them a positive experience of cultural diversity and an insight into everyday life in different European countries.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t

Participant perspective<\/h2>

What does voluntary service mean for us? It means spending a year away from your home country. A year of self-development and self-realisation, everything is in flux. But we are also constantly confronted with fears and stereotypes for a year. We could add to this list forever. Reading stories from other volunteers is one thing, feeling and experiencing them yourself is something completely different. This year seems so endless, endlessly full of people, new friends, lots of travelling. Simply unforgettably wonderful, even today. So many new impressions and opportunities: from project work, to creative design with the children, to the intensive training seminars of the European Voluntary Service. Our perspectives have already broadened incredibly. Thank you!<\/p>
